The City of Kent boasts a concentration of firms and strong talent serving the aerospace industry, with growing momentum in the new space sector led by Blue Origin. An important subsector for aerospace and new space lies in the supply chain that serves this industry cluster, and large manufacturers in the Kent Valley would benefit from having suppliers located closer to their operations. Most of these suppliers are SMEs, employing large numbers of middle-wage jobs.
Aerospace Futures Alliance and Greater Seattle Partners will develop targeted messaging and marketing materials to collaborate on strategic business attraction efforts that can reach suppliers for aerospace and provide them with a Kent option. Existing leading companies in this space will be tapped to aid in the business development process, and The City of Kent will provide guidance on real estate, zoning, and permitting.
